CWA Action Alert When We Fight, We Win!We need to take action NOW.

In the final days of Fiscal Year 2026 budget negotiations for the state, Governor Murphy and the NJ State Legislature are trying to shift $100 million in healthcare costs onto us —breaking our contract and trying to balance the budget on our backs.

This is unacceptable.

Take 3 actions right now to demand that our elected leaders do their jobs and stand with us:

New Jersey runs because we do—we, the public service workers of New Jersey, are what keeps this state going strong. Time and again, we’ve been asked to make sacrifices to keep our communities running and make sure that our neighbors get what they need, whether it’s working through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic or being asked again and again to shoulder the burden of rising costs. Enough is enough.

We’re demanding:

  1. No cost-shifting healthcare hikes onto workers
  2. Respect our collective bargaining agreements
  3. Fix the healthcare crisis for Local Government and State employees!

To do anything else would be a violation of our contract with the State—a direct attack on every public sector worker in New Jersey, and an attack on our unions. We will not stand for it.

This deal is being finalized as we speak, with a deadline of June 30, so we need to go all out right now.
